The TARGET Approach to Student Motivation
This approach is aimed at developing mastery as a goal orientation
T - Tasks should be relevant and challenging
A - A degree of Authority should be given to students to have control over learning activities
R - Rewards should be based on effort, progress, and achievement
G - Grouping involves helping students work effectively together
E - Evaluation methods should avoid public display of evaluation results
T - Adequate Time needs to be allowed for instruction, individual work, and group tasks.
